A must attend session!!
Mine was a curvy path, but in this talk I'll share with you the milestones that will lead you, a total beginner, to solid Drupal 8 Site-Building understanding. I went from a total newbie at my first BADcamp to a site launch in four short months by learning the Drupal ecosystem of content types, taxonomy, views, and blocks, and discovering the wonders of the open-source Drupal community. I'll provide the template of instructions (the Texas Two-Step) that will allow you to see what I did, mimic my success, and empower you to customize these methods to fit your own aspirations.
You need nothing but an open mind and bravery towards the unknown to attend.
Thanks to our sponsors pizza will be provided for lunch!!
The power of Drupal is that you can extend and override most anything. Yet, sometimes it is really confusing on how to do just that. Or at the very least, it's nice to know best practices so that your override doesn't come back to bite you later. We are going to take a look at many of the different ways to extend and override Drupal's core functionality to create custom sites that will work and look just the way you want.
This session is going to cover both the theming and module development sides.
At UC Davis, we work like almost any other agency, except that we work with internal clients.
We have established a Client Engagement process and Development Workflow that is well documented, and provides an excellent framework for how we do our work.
In this session, I will go through: Discovery, Design, Development, and Deployment.
With a little more emphasis on Development, I'll introduce our use of Consultancy Scrum, and our Git branching/pull-request/merging process.
In addition, I'll cover a few of the Continuous Integration tools we use for automated testing and deployment.
It's a mega-lighting round of tools, tips, tricks, modules, themes and apps!
All participants of the camp are invited to share something with the rest of the group.
Have a super useful Drupal module? tell us about it.
Got a nice tip for making your development workflow smoother? ponitifcate.
Is there an application you run on your laptop you simply cannot live without? Sing the praises!
All levels of expertise are welcome to share.
Make sure you pack whatever dongle you need to plug your laptop into a projector just in case we don't already have it.
